Fucom opened a new neighbourhood supermarket in Ghoroob Mirdif refrigerator repair on November 10 under the ‘Géant’ franchise. The launch marks the realisation of Fucom’s growth strategy that envisages the opening of more than 30 stores within the UAE over the next two years. Ghoroob Mirdif already provides refrigerator repair residents with a host of facilities including basketball and volleyball courts, an on-site children’s playground and 24-hour security. Dubai-based Fucom is the master franchise owner of the Géant brand in the GCC region, joining hands with Groupe Casino to bring the French Hypermarket concept to the Middle East. Yvan Baba, UAE Country Head at Fucom, said at the launch: “The opening of Géant Easy supermarket in Ghoroob Mirdif reflects our commitment to expand rapidly within UAE, and is in line with our aim to position Géant Easy as the quality community-friendly supermarket.” The main feature of the third Géant Easy store to open in the last two months, is a conveniently placed fresh food section. Yasir Arfat, Fucom’s Operations Manager for Supermarket Development, said: “On behalf of the Fucom team, I would like to invite you all to our store and share a special shopping experience. We have taken the necessary steps to understand our customers and have provided for their requirements accordingly.”
