Former Labour Prime Minister Dom Mintoff was given a dignified farewell by the Maltese nation in a state funeral deserving of a great statesman. Labour MEP Professor Edward Scicluna attended the funeral Mass at St John s Co-Cathedral and took part in the funeral cortège . He also paid his last respects to Dom Mintoff as he was lying in state at the President s Palace in Valletta. On Thursday Prof Scicluna together with the entire melita Labour Party administration, MP s and MEP s led by Party leader Joseph Muscat saluted Dom Mintoff in front of the Labour Party headquarters in Ħamrun. He also spoke fondly about his encounters with the former Prime Minister during a tribute television programme on One TV.
