This week I discovered a website Allon, a store in London that sells all kinds of Italian craftsmanship. Italian word allos means, in the past 'and the motto of the company are, oggi come Allo' which could þýðast 'today then'. In allo they have formed a close relationship with handverksfólkið and they focus on the quality of the product and that it is authentic, the trades are beautiful and work with passion. The store, which is also an online store offers a good selection but mainly captured my attention were hand-painted pieces of wisdom from the Italian company Stamperia Bertozzi.
Stamperia Bertozzi is an Italian family that was founded in 1920. They use ancient craft techniques to create hand painted and hand printed fabric with passion. They mix the colors themselves using mixtures which have been preserved in the family, from one generation to another. This stylish, dishtowels - line called Grad Virtualization - are made from 100% linen. The material used in the wisdom of the pieces nn are organic and woven in the loom resulting material is soft to the touch. With time it takes changes and just beautiful in appearance. When the material is painted, it is not just set aside and let dry but linen won three times and painted nn with different color tone every time. Finally, they use special Bertozzi crafts method to fix the color inherent in the use of steam which is driven by solar energy. The result is bright and strong color that lasts longer. nn I fell kylliflöt for viskustykkjunum blue (indigo) and brown (cacao) and would love to see them in my kitchen, but Grad Virtualization-line is also available in green and pink.
